Within 2 years of joining a gang, I mucked up and found myself in handcuffs in the back of the Tamil Task Force’s cruiser, being formally charged with 7 counts of gun related offences
How I inadvertently joined a gang at 16, literally wrecking my life by choosing a path that wasn’t even in my character. Yet, I played the role well and gained popularity amongst my peers and that boosted my ego to keep going down that path until I was finally locked up and God intervened.
As a child under the care of the Children’s Aid Society I enjoyed many privileges hat I never experienced at home, yet neglected of fundamental rights that would eventually get me deported.
How I survived the cold winters, and the realities of being homeless at the age of 11. Neglected and feeling rejected, I came to a fork in the road, and I went straight.
When I was boarded on to a flight as an unaccompanied minor, I had no inclination I would never see my father again
